Lancaster is a vibrant and cosmopolitan university city, home to around 15,000 students from all over the world. It's a compact city, making it easy to live and study here.

What makes Ambleside a great place to live is that it's in the heart of the Lake District, which means you will have some of the gorgeous wonders of nature on your doorstep. If your idea of a good time is watching the sunset over a lake, feeling the spray of a 70-foot waterfall on your face or riding a mountain bike down something tall and craggy, then Ambleside is the place to be. Courses at Barrow-in-Furness take place on the third floor of Furness College's new building. Designed to mimic real professional facilities, the site will make you feel like you're taking your first step towards your future career.

Along with the university students on the third floor, there are college and vocational students learning a wide range of trades from catering to hairdressing to plumbing, so you'll meet people from all walks of life with a variety of passions and talents. Here are some amenities near our campus.

Carlisle is a modern but spacious place to live and study. Students love it for its small size, close community and friendly atmosphere. It's the ideal place for someone who wants to live in a city environment without being lost in a huge urban sprawl.

Just outside the city centre in Carlisle, Brampton Road is a small, close-knit campus with just over 1000 full-time arts and humanities students. One of the first things you'll notice as you walk off campus is the big, beautiful park that sits opposite and the sheep grazing leisurely within. Only in Carlisle! With a population of over 2000 full-time students, Fusehill Street is Cumbria's second biggest campus. This campus has its own Sports Centre with a gym and sports hall, and a student bar where you can have a coffee in the afternoon or grab a cheeky pint in the evening.

It is close to Carlisle which is a modern but spacious place to live and study. It's the ideal place for someone who wants to live in a city environment without being lost in a huge urban sprawl. Here are some amenities near our campus.

Penrith is located in the north east corner of the Lake District, overlooking the magnificent Cumbria fells. The site is in a beautiful rural setting about a mile outside the town.
This friendly town has lively restaurants and pubs, a cinema, nightclubs and a good range of high street and specialist shops. For even more extensive facilities, Carlisle is just 20 minutes’ drive away. Here are some amenities near our campus.

Courses at Workington take place in the Energus building. Located in an industrial park in Lillyhall, Energus is a little bit off the beaten track, but once you get there, you’ll find it to be a sleek, modern building with top of the range equipment and facilities. It was purpose built to provide a fantastic space for professional training and development.

Energus is located in a quiet area, the perfect environment to focus on complex coursework, but when you’re ready to shrug off the academic side of student life for the day, Workington town is just a short hop away. Here are some amenities near our campus.

Keith Tyson Artist, Turner Prize Winner
Keith Tyson is a British artist who won the Turner Prize in 2002. His work is concerned with an interest in generative systems, and an embrace of the complexity and interconnectedness of existence. Tyson works in a wide range of media, including painting, drawing and installation. Keith Tyson completed his Art Foundation degree in 1990 at Cumbria College of Art and Design.

Helen Skelton Adventurer, Guiness Record Holder
Helen Elizabeth Skelton is an English television presenter, and also an adventurer. In 2010 she kayaked over 2,000 miles along the Amazon River, and in 2012 she finished a 500-mile (800 km) trek to the South Pole, both for Sport Relief. She also holds the world record for the fastest 100 km by kite ski during the south pole trip. She graduated from Cumbria Institute of the Arts, where she gained a BA degree in journalism.
