About Teesside
Teesside University opened in 1930 after much fundraising and campaigning for a university in Middlesbrough. But it took until 1992 for Teesside University to gain its Royal Charter and become a university in its own right.
The university offers a range of full-time and part-time courses, specialising in subjects including Art and Design, Computer Animation, Forensics, Health and Engineering. It has also recently launched two specialist degrees in Aerospace Engineering. Teesside place a great deal of emphasis on practical learning, and students are encouraged to work on live case studies.
