About UTS
The University of Technology Sydney (UTS) is a public research university located in Sydney, Australia. Its origins can be traced back to the 1870s when it started as Sydney Mechanics' School of Arts. The university is regarded as one of the world's leading young universities (under 50 years old), ranked 1st in Australia and 10th in the world by the 2019 QS World University Rankings.
In line with the UTS model of global practice-oriented learning, many of UTS' students undertake professional practice during their degree. As part of their degree program, students also have the opportunity to study at one of more than 185 universities in about 40 countries with which UTS has exchange agreements.
